What is a custom fee?

Custom fees allow you add any additional services as a separate line item to your patient or client’s order, such as a lab interpretation or phlebotomy fee. Rupa will bill your patient directly for the cost of testing & your custom fee.

How can I turn on custom fees?

Turn this feature on directly in your Clinic Settings! When setting up custom fees for the first time, you’ll be prompted to make a Stripe account. This should only take 2 minutes!

How do I set up a Stripe Express account?

When you’re setting up your custom fee for the first time, you’ll be prompted to set up a Stripe account! This should be fairly quick. Setting up a stripe account requires your personal, business and bank information.

Don’t worry! If you don’t have all your information on hand, you can always come back and complete account setup at a later time. Please note that your account set up must be completed in order to receive payouts.

After a certain amounts of payouts have been made, your Stripe account may require additional ID verification. You can manage your account information and status from your Stripe dashboard.

Is Stripe Express free to use?

Stripe accounts are free to set up and there are no subscription costs to use. There is a 5% fee for each payout.

How do I log into my Stripe Express account?

You can access your Stripe Express account from your Rupa dashboard by navigating to your settings > select billing & custom fees > click on “manage payouts.”

How can I edit information on my Stripe Express account?

You can manage your account information within the dashboard under “Account” tab. Here, you can edit your personal information, language preferences, and payout information associated with the account. Click here to learn more.

I already have a Stripe Express account. Can I just use this instead?

The Stripe Express account associated with Rupa payouts must be the only connected account. Rupa is unable to support pre-existing Stripe Express accounts that are connected to other platforms.

How can I edit my banking information?

You can manage your account information within the dashboard under “Account” tab. Under “Payout Details” you can see and manage the bank accounts associated with your Stripe account. Click here to learn more.

Payouts

When are payouts made?

Custom fee payouts are made after at least 1 test is resulted on the order. These payouts will happen on the Friday after the test is resulted.

What do I do if my payouts are paused?

Payouts may be paused if you have not completed account set up, or if you are missing identity verification. Identity verification may only be required after enough funds have been transacted through your account. Please note that identity verification can take 1 business day for Stripe to process. Verify that you’ve completed these steps to receive your payouts.
