What happens if there are Critical Results when Rupa Physician Services is used?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

If your client’s lab results come back with a critical result, as indicated by the lab company, the signing physician will attempt to call your client up to 3 times within a few hours of receiving results. If they aren't able to reach your client, they'll leave a voicemail.

During that phone call, the signing physician will notify the client of their critical result and encourage them to reach out directly to their provider. The signing physician will not provide a diagnosis nor treatment recommendations. Please note, abnormal results do not necessarily indicate a critical result.

You and your client will both receive copies of the results as soon as they are available from the lab.
